Horses boarded at our small, drama-free boarding facility enjoy herd-life (dry lot) in a natural, stress-free setting. Our place is well-suited for retirees, babies, rehab cases, as well as for riders that don't mind a 10 minute walk to trails. Quail Hollow Ranch County Park is a 5-min trailer ride, Henry Cowell State Park and SCCHA facilities are 15-min away. We use HorseGuard electric tape, with most of the approximately 7 acre property surrounded by 3-rail wood fence. There is a small round pen, tack/feed room and hitching rail. Your equine friend will enjoy free-fed grass hay in slow-feed hay nets and/or slow-feed agricultural bins. The property is well-shaded with old growth oak, madrone and bay trees. The soil is loamy sand and drains nicely. This soil is perfect for horses during the sensitive stages of rehab. Contrary to some earlier thinking in the barefoot world, gravel is not kind to a horse until they are at least sound on softer surfaces. The setup is very flexible. We can separate horses into different groups based on personality or gender - whatever seems best for everyone. Basic board is $300/month, which includes free-fed grass hay, CA Trace Minerals and feeding of owner-supplied supplements. There is the possibility of reduced board for help with cleaning &/or feeding. |
